Use cases

topoGenesis turns a site on the map and a one-line program into massing and plan options. These pages are early studies in that flow.

Pick a site on the map and check it

Tap points to draw a boundary and see its area. On Korean coordinates you can turn on cadastral lines as a reference. In the massing step, look at nearby buildings and terrain while you set storeys and adjust each floor.

Make massing and plan options

Describe the building in one line and the spaces become bubbles. Adjust area and adjacency, then run generation to compare options. Color plans and elevations are early study material, not final drawings. You can export a floor-plan DWG, a SketchUp DAE, and a Rhino 3DM.

Studies

  • Site massing and 3D volume study

Draw a site boundary on the map and set a mass on it among neighbouring buildings and terrain in 3D. A real run on a 2,494 m² site in Seongsu-dong with a nine-storey mass shows the steps.

  • Early planning study and three massing options

Turn a site, a floor count, and a one-line program into three mass and plan options in one run and compare them side by side. Scores and floor areas from a real seven-storey retail-and-officetel run on a 532 m² Yeoksam-dong site.

  • Small-building floor plan drafts

Turn a one-line description into a room list and compare three floor-plan drafts. Ground and second-floor plans from a real four-storey guesthouse run on a 94 m² Ikseon-dong site.

  • Multi-family and neighbourhood retail

Write ground-floor retail and multi-family units above in one line and compare three mass and plan options. A real five-storey café-plus-flats run on a 286 m² Yeonnam-dong site.

  • Draw a site boundary and check its area

Pull in a parcel by address or click points to close a site boundary, then read its area, dimensions, and bearing straight away. A real run on a 112 m² parcel in Gwangan-dong, Busan, taken up to a three-storey mass.

  • Plans from a bubble diagram

Set adjacency between rooms as a bubble diagram and get floor-plan and elevation drafts. Shown with a real four-storey dental-clinic-plus-home run on a 240 m² site in Mapo-gu.

  • Export mass and plans to Rhino, SketchUp, and CAD

Export a generated option as SKP (a SketchUp DAE bundle), floor-plan DWG, IFC, or Rhino 3DM. Real screens from a five-storey co-working run on a 676 m² site in Yuseong-gu, Daejeon, show where each file comes from.

  • Early volume for a small shophouse or office

Write a ground-floor shop, an office above, and the owner’s home on top in one line, then compare early volumes and three plan options on a small site. A real four-storey shophouse run on a 117 m² site in Eunpyeong-gu.

Questions

What order does topoGenesis work in?
Draw a site boundary on the map and check the area, nearby buildings, and terrain. Describe the building in one line and the rooms and adjacencies become a bubble diagram. Generation then compares massing and floor-plan options.
Can I use the drawings as final drawings?
No. The massing, color floor plans, and elevations are early study material for a concept. They are not final drawings or construction documents.
Where do I start?
You can start in the studio on topogenesis.xyz. Saving, export, and continued generation need a login. On the site step, tap points to draw the boundary.

Try it on topogenesis.xyz

The studio runs the same sequence from site to massing to plan options.
